Terms & Conditions
Thank you for choosing Blue Bird Sweetery, every effort will be made to ensure the desserts and designs discussed and described to meet your specific requests. Customers agree to these terms and conditions upon payment of the retainer.
Substitutions
Due to the seasonal nature and variations of quality inherent in dealing with baked goods, we reserve the right to substitute ingredients and/ or containers without notice but will always strive to provide the color, style and feel that was originally discussed.
Payment
50% of the total is due upon booking. Retainers are non-refundable; customer acknowledges that the purposes of the retainer is to secure ingredients and guarantee the date. All payments can be made by Venmo, Zelle, or Cash with no service fee. If you choose to pay by credit card a 3.5% service fee will be added.
Full payment must be made at or prior to pickup for your event.
Cancellation Policy
Orders cancelled will forfeit the entire retainer.
Changes
We are more than happy to add or remove items from your order up until 2 weeks (14 total days) prior your pickup date. Additions can be requested but not guaranteed. Pickup date is noted on the summary of your order and customer is responsible to make sure all information including pickup date is stated correctly. Blue Bird Sweetery is not responsible if date or information from the summary is not correct if no corrections are provided by the customer within 24 hours the retainer will be forfeited in full.
Outside Vendors in same line of work
We do not work with outside vendors/ family members/ or friends in the same line of work; as products sometimes do not match up and can compromise the overall look of your event and overall damage our reputation.
Acts of God/ Force Majeure
Blue Bird Sweetery, Nikki Bassier-Johnson, and its employees are not responsible for Acts of God. Acts of God include, but are not limited to, acts of natures, including earthquakes and floods. Any delay or failure in the performance by either party hereunder shall be excused if and to the extent caused by the occurrence of a Force Majeure.
Rentals
All rental items are noted and are the property of Blue Bird Sweetery. All rental items must be returned to Blue Bird Sweetery the following day after the event by the client or Blue Bird Sweetery will pick up the rentals for an additional fee. The client is responsible for the return of rental items unless otherwise specified. Late rentals are subject to a $35 charge each day they are overdue.
Any missing or broken items are solely the responsibility of the client. If such occurs, the client agrees they will be billed for those items at retail pricing.
Client agrees that negligence on their part or their guests in regard to operation or use of rental equipment does not constitute negligence on the part of Blue Bird Sweetery and will not hold Blue Bird Sweetery responsible for any injury, damage, personal loss, theft, death or any other conceivable accident that may occur as a result of the use, operations or transport of the rental items provided by Blue Bird Sweetery by the client or any guest.
A retainers is required for all rentals in the event that items are damaged and/or are not returned. If rentals are received in original condition, no charges will apply.
The client’s right to possession of the rental items terminates on either the pickup date or the day following the event when rentals are due back to 4355 Stanford Place La Mesa, CA 91942.
Client agrees not to sublet, loan, or assign rentals items.
